Horizon Hydraulic Sales & Service, Inc. just completed one of three hydraulic clamping interfaces with a Haas MDC-500 machining center. We had to create our own I/O's to interface with not only the Haas machine but also a robot that loaded and unloaded the machine. This project did not require the use of a rotary union in the pallet door because the machine only rotated 180 degrees during a pallet change. On past projects we had to modify the pallet door to accept a rotary union for our clamp, unclamp, part present or sensing circuits. We also installed a hydraulic accumulator to provide additional speed for a rotating fixture in this case. We used a high quality Enerpac pump with a factory mounted four station DO3 manifold to provide 5000 PSI for two custom designed clamping fixtures. In this case we used Hawe zero leak directional valves for positive holding. As you can see, we take pride in providing a excellent customer experience.
